The Abzoids are proud to share that Abzu is named a “Cool Vendor” in the 2022 Gartner Cool Vendors in AI Governance and Responsible AI — From Principles to Practice report, an annual evaluation of commercial platforms for data science and machine learning (ML), as well as for cloud AI services platforms. These platforms use common open-source libraries for explainability, fairness, and trustworthiness, in addition to their own proprietary approaches.
Every technology startup aspires to be a Gartner Cool Vendor: A designation for companies that are innovative, impactful, and intriguing. Abzu’s vision “to lead the next scientific revolution with a new class of explainable AI” is no small ambition, and Abzu believes that Gartner has affirmed their pursuit.
“Most AI systems today are like the Oracle of Delphi. They give answers that are sometimes correct, but they stubbornly refuse to explain their reasons. People rightly refuse to trust decisions made in such an opaque way. This is the problem that Abzu solves and we are proud that Gartner has recognized us,” says Casper Wilstrup, CEO of Abzu.
Abzu was born in 2018 in Barcelona and Copenhagen when 7 co-founders set out to challenge the paradigm of traditional black-box AI. Today, Abzu has customers among the top-10 big pharmaceutical companies, small-to-medium sized biotech enterprises, and academic institutions, confirming the adage for those who still rely on black-box AI or obscured predictions: There’s always someone cooler than you.
