Abzu® becomes a vetted member of the Nordic Ethical AI Landscape.

Abzu® becomes a vetted member of the Nordic Ethical AI Landscape, a project that identifies, screens, and categorizes ethical Nordic AI startups and institutions.

Launched in collaboration with the Ethical AI Governance Group (EAIGG) and the Ethical AI Database (EAIDB), the Nordic Ethical AI Landscape is the only publicly available, vetted database of AI companies in the Nordics that provide ethical services.

The introduction of the Nordic Ethical AI Landscape is a welcome step towards promoting responsible and ethical AI awareness and application. “Humans are increasingly relying on automated computational systems to handle the accelerating volume and complexity of data. Our brains are simply not designed to comprehend this manifold, and so we look to AI. But we’re walking a very dangerous line,“ cautions Casper, CEO of Abzu.

The application of neural networks, often referred to as “black-box AI”, has a marred past of computational expense, bias, and an inability to validate. Most importantly, it’s the lack of explainability — especially concerning high-impact decisions — that makes black-box AI so perilous.

“Now we have forced or feigned explainability, but this is just whitewashed black-box algorithms,” says Casper.

Abzu was selected from over 200 Nordic AI startups and institutions to join the Nordic Ethical AI Landscape 2022 Q4 as a member of the Target AI Solutions and Technologies category.
