Abzu's Beer, Data, + Drugs event

Beer, Data, + Drugs is an invite-only event to celebrate working in drug discovery.

This is a safe — and fun! — space for researchers and scientists to discuss everything from their day-to-day to novel discoveries, and the best tools to advance science.

Thursday, October 27th was a warm evening at the Abzu office in Copenhagen. Researchers and scientists from (in alphabetical order) Amgen, Ankrin Therapeutics, Bioinnovation Institute, CareerFoundry, Contera Pharma, Copenhagen University, Dianox, DTU, Genmab, InventureLEO Pharma, Muna Therapeutics, Nodelab, Novo Nordisk, Rigshospitalet, Roche, and ZS Intomics – to name a few! – mixed and mingled over beers and snacks.

It bears remembering in light of Roche closing the Roche Innovation Center how much life science, pharma, and biotech  research and industry are in Copenhagen.

Marianne Helenius, a PhD student at DTU Health Tech specializing in Disease Data Intelligence, presented her research in collaboration with the Paediatric Oncology Research Laboratory (Bonkolab) at Rigshospitalet.

Marianne Helenius presented on her research on ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) phenotypes.

Her research involves modeling and predicting clinical features and treatment toxicitiy/effects of chemotherapy treatment in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Marianne’s research will help explain the biological patterns involved in ALL and how genetics can influence ALL and treatment response phenotypes.

After Marianne’s presentation, we spent the rest of the evening enjoying drinks, snacks, and excellent conversation.

This was Abzu’s best-attended Beer, Data, and Drugs! If you’d like to attend the next Beer, Data, + Drugs, you can let us know by subscribing to our BD+D newsletter.

Beer, Data, + Drugs is always an invite-only, safe space for researchers and scientists to discuss everything from their day-to-day to novel discoveries, and the best tools to advance science. You can also let us know if you’d like to present at the next event.

See you next time!
